Full Time Candle Manufacturing/Production Assistant

As a Production Assistant you will follow the production schedule and directives with ease, communicating with upper management to meet daily production goals. We have many types of projects going on, so you will need the ability to shift gears quickly when asked. Your days will involve loading several hundred pounds of wax into melting vats, mixing fragrance into melted wax, pouring wax into candle vessels, finishing candles to company standard, shifting finished candles off production tables to assembly tables, and completing production goals in a timely manner.

You will keep the studio stocked with materials, break down boxes for recycling, and clean and organize the studio at the end of the day. Your handcrafting skills will be crucial as the candle making process is integral to a quality product output. We need someone who can maintain focus, skill, and speed to help us maintain our output goals.

Candle making work is extremely physical! A few must-haves: You must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and have the ability to stand on your feet between 6 to 8 hours per day. As you will be working hands-on with the candles you must be able to tolerate direct contact with fragrance oils and essential oils. You must be self-motivated, careful, attentive, and on task at all times in production. This is an essential position and is the backbone of what we do here at Tatine, but we will train you in full so no prior candle making experience is necessary.

Additionally, you will provide production assembly back up as needed on a daily basis, which will involve wick preparation, setting up glassware, labeling and cleaning finished candles, assembling handcrafted packaging carefully, which involves folding and pleating paper, assembling boxes, putting labels on boxes, and case-packing product and getting it on the shelf for our wholesale customers. These tasks require handwork, skill and attention to detail. Those hired into this position will also be trained to back up our shipping department so you are skilled in times of heavy shipping, such as trade show season, holidays, and custom product developments. A great attention to detail is required as well as PC computer skills to enter shipments into UPS WorldShip. You will also take deliveries in and out of our loading docks when required. Must be comfortable hauling in large material shipments on pallet jacks and have a strong work ethic and kindness in dealing with our shippers.

Each department is assigned daily clean up at the end of each production day to maintain a safe and clean working environment. You will also be responsible for weekly cleanup of our communal kitchen and production areas.

Full Time Administrative/Customer Service Assistant

We currently have one opening in our office adjacent to our manufacturing floor. You will act as a liason between the two departments under the direct supervision and guidance of our Senior Operations Manager.

If you are a detail-oriented individual with great communication skills you would be a fit for our Full-Time Administrative and Customer Service Assistant opportunity! Your strengths: motivated, highly organized, strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent spoken and written communication skills, trustworthy, hard working, and interested in working in a creative office environment. Prior experience with Mac OS and Quickbooks Online a plus. We’d love a warm, vibrant individual with a positive attitude that can work for a small business in a fast-paced environment. Someone who cares about their work and is interested in growing with our company and becoming part of our hardworking family.

As an Administrative and Customer Service Assistant you would assist upper management with daily administrative tasks such as communicating with our wholesale retailers over the phone and through email, charging wholesale orders accurately, invoicing orders in Quickbooks, maintaining website stock, answering phone and email inquiries, packing and shipping website orders, and determining and tracking territory of inquiring retailers.

You will also provide Production Assembly back up as needed on a daily basis, which will involve wick preparation, setting up glassware, labeling and cleaning finished candles, assembling handcrafted packaging carefully, which involves folding and pleating paper, assembling boxes, putting labels on boxes, and case-packing product and getting it on the shelf for our wholesale customers. There will also be weekly cleaning and maintenance of shared office and kitchen areas. As you will be working in a candle studio you must be able to tolerate a fragranced environment.

These tasks require handwork, skill and attention to detail. You would need to be able to maintain focus, skill, and speed to help us maintain our output goals. Since we are a fragrance company you will need to be able to tolerate a fragrant environment.
