Full-Time Shipping / Receiving Handler and Production Assistant for Artisan Candle Studio—Entry Level

As the Full-Time Shipping / Receiving Handler and Production Assistant you will handle daily wholesale order fulfillment by timely and accurately pulling, packing, and shipping orders to meet daily shipping deadlines. You will also be responsible for receiving pallets of heavy freight on a loading dock, assisting with candle production and assembly,  and maintaining a clean, safe, organized workspace.


—Fulfillment duties such as pulling, packing, and shipping orders for wholesale accounts as well as ticketing and packaging for large-scale national retailer orders and multi-pallet shipments

—Accurate entry of shipments into UPS Worldship system

—Manage inventory and ordering of shipping supplies

—Check in and unpack deliveries of shipping supplies

—Loading and unloading of pallet size orders from freight trucks at our dock with a pallet jack

—Patience and understanding while dealing with deliveries from several different freight companies

—Move heavy pallets of glassware to and from our basement storage on a freight elevator

—Maintain a neat and organized shipping workspace daily, including pallet, recycling, and trash removal to outside dumpsters

—Production back up as needed, involving setting up candle glassware, wick preparation, and labeling, cleaning, and moving candles off the production tables

—Daily candle assembly tasks involving careful assembly of handcrafted packaging, which includes folding and pleating of specialty paper packaging, assembling boxes and cases, properly labeling product and case pack boxes, and case packing product to ship out to customers

—Accurate shelving of warehouse stock according to lot numbers


—Experience shipping with UPS/Worldship, FedEx, DHL, and USPS for one or two years, but willing to train the right person

—Knowledge of international shipping paperwork

—Understanding of packing slips, invoices, bills of lading, and other shipping-related paperwork


—High attention to detail and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner as we ship a large volume of shipments daily

—Maintain focus, skill, and speed to meet daily output goals

—Since the shipments must be completed in the beginning of the day, punctuality is a must!

—Ability to lift 50 lbs. and be on your feet for the majority of the day

—As you will be working in a candle studio you must be able to tolerate a fragranced environment. Please be advised that this job is not ideal for those with fragrance sensitivities. 

–Minimum education of High School Diploma /GED

Pay scale determined on level of experience. Immediate start date. Full time, 9am – 5pm weekday schedule.
